When the batteries are depleted, the system automatically tries to draw power from the panel, and resumes running once the sun returns. If there is a special occasion where the battery pack needs to be fully charged so the fountain can operate on demand, simply turn the whole unit off, to allow the battery to charge more quickly (as no power will be used to run the pump/lights).
